Shirley Prittie’s Art Class

Art Exhibit at Baysville Branch, Lake of Bays Library

The artwork on display this month is not created by professional artists but rather the works are all painted by students in Shirley Prittie’s art classes. And what talented students they are! This you’ll see from their finished works. Shirley has been teaching art classes in the Baysville community for about 10 years. Besides being a talented artist in her own right, Shirley owned and operated The Manse Gallery in Baysville for many years. Most of the work on display was framed by Tracey Kilgour, owner of Martin’s Framing in Bracebridge. Tracy, looking to support new artists in the community, decided she’d like to encourage our artists to proudly show their work in this exhibit. To that end she offered to frame their work at reasonable prices, using her excess materials, so we have a wonderful display of students’ work. We invite you to come to the library and enjoy!
